Hancock

As super heroes go, Hancock (Will Smith) is the farthest thing from pillar of virtue as you would imagine. He is boozy, unkempt, and foul-mouthed, with a knack for saving people while leaving a path of destruction in his wake. The public dislikes Hancock’s antics and behavior. Although he’s clumsy at what he does, he has a good heart otherwise he would have gone bad years ago.
Hancock saves Ray Embrey (Jason Bateman), a public relations/image consultant from certain death when he nearly is crushed by a train. Ray sees the good in Hancock and makes it his mission to improve Hancock’s image as well as his attitude. Ray brings Hancock into his home to meet his wife Mary (Charlize Theron) and their son, but Mary doesn’t want Hancock around. She feels he would be a bad influence on their son, but Ray is commited.
You will find Hancock to be a sympathetic character. And the movie's plot has a twist in the story you won’t see coming, and I won’t give away the surprise. It has some great action scenes and special effects that are not overdone. There are a lot of funny scenes and serious moments that fit well together. This is an original movie directed by Peter Berg and not just another super hero comic book on the big screen. It does have some language and violence that earns it the PG-13 rating, but it fits the story. It was a fun summer movie.
