According to Zillow, Our house has gone up about $8,000 since we bought it two years ago.  I don't really want house prices to go up since we don't plan on selling our home for many, many years.  We live in Portland, Oregon.

My house has dropped about $50,000 in value.  Me too, am benefiting because I am not planning to sell and now I pay less in property taxes.

No, I don't think so.  We just bought a year ago and got it for a pretty good price.  Fortunately, we're in a good area of West Tennessee, OUTSIDE the city of Memphis.

Houses in my northern Ohio neighborhood were going for the upper 300's to mid 400's 3 summers ago. Now they homes are selling in the mid 200's to low 300's. Bummer because my house has been on the market for almost 3 years and we've reduced the price by $60,000. No one is looking and more and more homes are going on the market .

It has decreased in value by at least a third in the past two years. And there are four homes for sale on my street right now, and they aren't even getting offers.

Re: Has your home decreased in value?

Just received the assessment on my house -- in MS it is published every 4 years and the tax roles are updated at that time.  Well my house wand up in value as I expected.  Due to the Katerna causing so much damage here on the MS gulf coast housing is hard to find and what is available is expensive.

Has your home decreased in value?

I just got my annual assessment for my house and it has dropped $127,000 in value. Well, the bright side is that I don't have to pay as much property tax for the time being. I live in the Bay Area in California. Where do you live and has your home value dropped?
